The Next Neighborhood Canvass for Kefalas

Saturday, September 26 will be our next Big Walk for Rep. John Kefalas' 2010 re-election effort. We'll meet at 9 a.m. at Democratic Party headquarters, 606 S. Mason Street, Fort Collins, for coffee, bagels, assignments and a quick training/reminder, then hit the streets in targetted precincts to talk to voters. I know, it’s not even Autumn 2009, and it seems way too early to be campaigning for the November 2010 election. But our window of good weather to walk door to door is small, then the holidays will be upon us, and in January the 2010 Colorado legislative session will start. When that ends next May, there will only be a few months before voting starts. Thankfully for us here in Colorado, campaigns can still be won by knocking on doors and convincing voters one by one. To meet our goal of canvassing every precinct in House District 52 and reaching every reachable voter with our message that “We’re All In This Together,” we need your help. Because it’s not just about re-electing Rep. Kefalas. It’s about winning real health care reform, in Colorado and across the US. It’s about building an economy that works for all of us, not just the fortunate few. It’s about educating our children, protecting our environment, and building community. That's a pretty good deal for a couple of hours of walking around town. Won’t you join us?
